As I promised here are Soccer highlights for Callie's Fall Season! She started her season in July just like Emily with conditioning with the team and Varsity coach several days a week. She made the JV team as one of 25 girls. Yes 25 is a lot of girls on a soccer team. Obviously this number affected playing time for the girls. Callie played quite a bit but probably not as much as she was used to. I can't complain though, as a freshman she got a lot of playing time. The team was made up of freshman and sophomores. She started out the season very strong in tryouts. As the games started she didn't seem as strong of a player as she did in tryouts. She started out playing a lot and starting both halves to not starting and a game or two not playing at all in the second half. After some tears and a heart to heart talk with her she came back stronger than ever. She was starting again and playing a lot. She finished the season with 5 goals. She was the highest scoring player on JV. The season ended with a Soccer banquet in the middle of December. It was another great evening with great food, great girls and great parents. The highlight for us was Callie winning the Best Offensive Player award!
Here are some pictures to highlight the season for her!

Not sure what was going on here but often I would look over to see Callie standing in front of the team and the team smiling and laughing. She has her father's sense of humor.

Callie comforting her friend, Raina, after Raina was given a time out by the Ref.
Callie going for the ball. I love this picture. It was taken by another mom.
Funny story about that purple and blue wall in the background. The team had a lot of waiting time before and after this game. Callie threw her friend's cleat in the air and it went in between the wall. They couldn't get it out. So Todd, Callie and I went back that weekend and creatively figured out how to get it out. Thank goodness or we would have had to buy this friend a new pair of cleats.

Callie is just finishing up an indoor soccer league that has been going on since November. This next Friday is the playoffs. Callie will then start an indoor Lacrosse training. She wants to try out for the high school LAX team with Emily. Callie and Emily are both on the ski team now. Meanwhile, Emily made is on an indoor Winter team for field hockey. She is playing for Granite State Elite. She has a couple practices a month and will have tournaments throughout the Winter. More intense training to prepare her for her senior year.
